SkillsTech Australia drives the sustainable skills agenda
As the lead TAFE institute for trade and technician training, SkillsTech Australia is well placed to make a large contribution to the sustainability of Queensland. By integrating sustainability training into existing programs, developing new sustainable qualifications and creating the SkillsTech Australia Sustainability Centre, SkillsTech Australia is actively driving the sustainability skills agenda in Queensland.
By utilising SkillsTech Australia's strong industry links, all sustainability training is guaranteed to be relevant and responsive to the changing agenda.
The community will benefit from tradespersons having the skills and knowledge to provide energy and water saving advice directly to consumers.
SkillsTech Australia's commitment to sustainable training
SkillsTech Australia is:
- incorporating sustainable technology into construction, electrical, engineering and plumbing trade training to meet current and future labour market demands
- developing sustainable technology design and consultancy training for energy, cleaner production and water markets
- establishing a sustainable technology working group, incorporating industry and other key stakeholders to ensure that training is relevant and follows best practice
