Early notice of your disability

If you have a disability that may impact on your learning at SkillsTech Australia, please make early contact with our Student Support Services Coordinator so that the support can be negotiated and organised.

You can give us early notice of your disability.  If you are applying through the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre to study at the SkillsTech Australia you will be sent a questionnaire to complete and a copy of your response will be sent to our Student Support Services Coordinator. All information provided is confidential.

If you are applying directly to the SkillsTech Australia you can advise us of your disability through your enrolment details or contact us directly on 1800 STA (782) 000 to make an appointment.

Apprentices

You can apply for support in several ways:

  1. You can ring Student services directly on 1800 STA (782) 000.
  2. You/your employer can let the Workplace trainer/Assessor know when you meet them in person that you require additional support with your training or assessment in or out of class. Your employer can make an application with your Apprenticeship Centre through the Australian Government DAAWS Scheme (Disabled Australian Apprentice Wage Scheme) for funding for wage support and tutorial/mentor/interpreter support.
