The manufacturing industry is one of the main contributors to Queensland's growing economy, employing around 182,000 Queenslanders.

Opportunities for employment and careers exist right across the main manufacturing industry sectors, including aerospace, boatbuilding, biotechnology, electronic equipment manufacturing, engineering, machinery and equipment manufacturing, food process and supply and light metals.

What are the manufacturing trades?

While manufacturing is typically seen as 'making things', manufactured goods need to be produced safely, stored, marketed and transported. Products have to be tested ,maintained and repaired, quality-assured and improved. There is an increased emphasis on using sustainable, advanced technologies and increasing productivity.
